Lucy Rose is going to be huge news this year, all this fuss and the debut album’s not even out yet! Blimey. Well, she does sound pretty sweet, and she’s performing in The Duchess on Wednesday with her band and two bloody lovely supports in Nathan Holme and Phil Jones.

BIO:
With only three singles to her name, it would appear to be very early days in the career of young singer Lucy Rose. But at the tender age of 23, Lucy has already managed more than many would in a lifetime. She sang backing vocals on much of the last two Bombay Bicycle Club albums and supported them on tours of the UK, Europe and the Americas. This year Lucy is also opening Noah & The Whale’s huge UK tour.

Five years ago Lucy left her family home in rural Warwickshire to go to university in London. She never bothered, instead focusing on her songs and playing music. Last year she returned home to record her debut album with scorching hot young producer Charlie Hugall (Florence, Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, 2:54). Aided by percussionist Sam Nadel, bass player Joe Steer (Broadcast 2000) and multi-instrumentalist Alex Eichenberger, the music has grown with Lucy into a fully realised, mature whole.

The three singles so far, Middle Of The Bed, Red Face and February’s Scar (feat. Jack Steadman from BBC), have created huge excitement for the album while Lucy’s fragile vocals, and heartfelt, poignant songs have garnered her widespread praise and attention including Lucy’s first ever front cover in January 2012 for The Fly, new band features in The Sunday Times (Culture), NME, Daily Mirror and Music Week, A Record of the Week and playlist at 6 Music for last single Scar, she was a featured artist on Radio 4’s Loose Ends, BBC Radio 2 support and massive day time support from BBC Radio 1’s Fearne Cotton, Edith Bowmen and Huw Stephens.
